Description
I wasn't big on the cover art for Jacqueline Carey's novel "Kushiel's Dart". I didn't like how the character was drawn nor the tattoo on her back. So I drew this. It's closer to my own visualization of the marque.
The image is all blurgy because it's been in my sketchbook for a very long time, which is not a safe place for drawings to be.

I love your interpretation of the marque on Phedre's back! I was so disappointed to see the cover as it did not live up to my imagination... and I felt it did not hold true to the story. Not nearly magnificent enough to draw the attention that was given by those who saw it. This is lovely!
